Peer Review Process for the Axis Journal of Scientific Innovations (AJSI)
The Axis Journal of Scientific Innovations (AJSI) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of scientific integrity and impartiality through its rigorous double-blind peer-review system. This foundational process ensures the anonymity of both authors and reviewers, thereby minimizing bias and upholding the quality and credibility of published research.
1. Initial Screening
Upon submission, every manuscript undergoes a preliminary assessment by the editorial office. This check ensures alignment with AJSI's scope in scientific innovations and inventions and verifies basic adherence to the journal's formatting and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these initial criteria are returned to the authors without proceeding to full peer review.
2. Selection of Reviewers
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a handling editor, who invites a minimum of two independent experts to conduct a detailed review. Reviewers are selected based on their demonstrated expertise in the relevant field and the absence of any conflicts of interest with the authors or their work, ensuring an unbiased and thorough evaluation.
3. Reviewer Instructions
Reviewers are entrusted with the critical task of upholding the journal's quality. They are expected to:
Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
Provide objective, constructive, and respectful critiques within the agreed-upon timeframe.
Immediately disclose any potential conflicts of interest to the editor.
Ensure their assessment is conducted independently and is free from external influence.
4. Review Process Details
Feedback and Revisions: Reviewer comments are forwarded to the authors. Authors are expected to address all points raised in a point-by-point response and submit a revised manuscript within a specified period.
Final Decision: The editor's final decision (accept, reject, or request further revisions) is based on a synthesis of the reviewers' reports and the authors' revisions. Accepted manuscripts then proceed to copyediting and production to ensure clarity, consistency, and scientific accuracy.
5. Preventing Peer Review Manipulation
To protect the integrity of the review process, AJSI actively works to prevent manipulation by:
Independently sourcing reviewers from a diverse database to avoid those with recent collaborations or conflicts with the authors.
Carefully vetting any reviewer suggestions provided by authors, confirming their identities and expertise through institutional affiliations.
Remaining vigilant for signs of fraudulent peer review and implementing additional verification checks or reviews if any suspicion arises.
Double-Blind Peer Review & Editorial Policy
Confidentiality and Impartiality: Our double-blind review process guarantees that the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from one another, fostering an objective and unbiased evaluation environment.
Initial Evaluation: The editor-in-chief conducts an initial review for scope, originality, and overall quality.
Expert Review: Selected manuscripts are sent to at least two field experts for a detailed assessment of their scientific validity, methodology, and significance.
Final Decision: The ultimate publication decision is made by the handling editor, informed by the expert reviews, ensuring that only high-quality, impactful research is published.
Commitment to Transparency and Integrity
AJSI is committed to maintaining a transparent, fair, and efficient peer-review process. We strive for a constructive and timely evaluation to support authors and disseminate significant scientific innovations. We invite the global research community to entrust their work to AJSI, where integrity, rigor, and the advancement of knowledge are our foremost priorities.
