Author' Guidelines & Submission Structure

Author Guidelines for Submission to the Axis Journal of Scientific Innovations (AJSI)

Submission Overview:
The Axis Journal of Scientific Innovations (AJSI) invites original research articles, review articles, case studies, short communications, and letters to the editor. We only consider original manuscripts that are not under consideration by or previously published in any other publication.

Submission Process:
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the online submission system on the AJSI website. The corresponding author should register or log in to an existing account to complete the five-step submission process. To maintain the integrity of our double-blind peer review, the manuscript file must be fully anonymized. All author details must be provided separately in the online system's metadata section. Supplementary files, such as datasets or copyright forms, can be uploaded during the submission process.

Language and Formatting:

  • Language: Manuscripts must be submitted in English. Authors may use either British or American English conventions, but must do so consistently throughout the document.

  • Font and Spacing: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, with justified alignment and single line spacing for the main text.

  • Tables and Figures: All tables, figures, and charts should be placed within the main body of the text at their appropriate logical positions, not grouped at the end of the document.

Manuscript Types and Requirements:

  • Review Article: Comprehensive analyses of topics; up to 4000 words, excluding references.

  • Original Research Article: Up to 3000 words, excluding a structured abstract (250 words max) and references (minimum 25).

  • Case Study Report: Documents a specific innovation or application; includes Abstract, Introduction, Case Description, Discussion, and Conclusion.

  • Letters to the Editor: Comments on recent AJSI articles (within 4 weeks of publication) in 300 words, or other topics in 500 words; maximum of five references and one table/figure.

Title and Keywords:

  • The title must concisely reflect the manuscript's content, including the core innovation, key variables, and technological or scientific context. Avoid non-standard abbreviations.

  • Provide 5-10 keywords. Keywords should be specific to the field of scientific innovations and inventions to ensure accurate indexing and discoverability.

Abbreviations and Units:

  • Use only standard abbreviations. Define each non-standard abbreviation at its first use in the text by placing the abbreviation in parentheses after the full term.

  • All measurements must be reported using the International System of Units (SI). Use generic names for all materials; proprietary names may be indicated in parentheses if crucial to the study.

Tables and Figures:

  • Include tables and figures where they enhance understanding. Each must be intelligible without reference to the main text.

  • Provide a clear, descriptive legend for each table and figure. Ensure all graphical data is of high resolution and provided in an editable format. Permission must be secured for any previously published material.

References:

  • Format all references according to the Vancouver style.

  • Number references consecutively in the order they first appear in the text.

  • For works with up to six authors, list all names. For works with seven or more authors, list the first six followed by 'et al.'

Article Processing and Publication Fee Policy

The Axis Journal of Scientific Innovations (AJSI) is an open-access scholarly journal committed to maintaining high editorial standards, rigorous peer review, and wide dissemination of scientific research. The journal does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, initial editorial screening, or the double-blind peer-review process.

To support essential publication and operational activities, a limited Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. These charges are used solely to offset necessary costs associated with the production, quality assurance, and dissemination of published articles.

For the fiscal year 2025–26, APC contributions are allocated toward the following core activities:

  • Peer-review coordination and reviewer honoraria

  • Professional copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading

  • Plagiarism detection and research integrity checks

  • Website hosting, maintenance, and Open Journal Systems (OJS) technical support

  • Editorial management and administrative operations

  • Printing, binding, and dissemination of issues (where applicable)

  • Miscellaneous operational expenses, including banking and communication charges

The APC of PKR 25,000 for national authors and USD 120 for international authors represents a cost-recovery mechanism intended to ensure the sustainability and quality of the journal’s publishing operations. Payment of APCs has no influence on editorial decisions, peer-review outcomes, or acceptance of manuscripts.

To promote inclusivity and equitable access to publication, AJSI offers partial or full APC waivers on a case-by-case basis for authors with genuine financial constraints, particularly early-career researchers and contributors from low- and lower-middle-income countries.

This transparent fee structure supports ethical publishing practices while enabling the journal to provide unrestricted open access to its published content.

Expenses And Financial Support

The financial support is required to meet the essential operational and quality-assurance needs of the publisher’s scholarly journals, which operate as open-access platforms managed through the Open Journal Systems (OJS). These funds are utilized to administer rigorous double-blind peer-review processes, including coordination and honoraria for independent reviewers, and to ensure professional copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading of accepted manuscripts in accordance with international publishing standards. Additional expenses include plagiarism detection and research integrity checks, website hosting, system maintenance, and ongoing technical support necessary for secure and uninterrupted journal operations. Financial resources are also required for editorial management and administrative handling by editorial boards, limited printing and dissemination for regulatory and institutional purposes, and routine operational costs such as banking, communication, and official correspondence. This financial support functions as a cost-recovery mechanism to sustain publication quality, ethical standards, and editorial independence while ensuring consistent operations and compliance with HEC requirements across all journals.

Source of Funding Disclosure

Transparency in the research publication process is a cornerstone of AJSI's policy. Therefore, we require all authors to explicitly disclose all sources of financial support for the work reported in their manuscript. This disclosure must include the full name of the funding agency and the grant number, if applicable.

The reasons for this requirement are:

  • Transparency and Integrity: It promotes full transparency, allowing readers and reviewers to assess any potential influence of the funding body on the research design, outcomes, or interpretation.

  • Proper Acknowledgment: It ensures that the organizations that enabled the research are appropriately and formally credited.

  • Mapping Innovation Funding: It helps illustrate the funding landscape for scientific innovations and inventions, providing valuable data for researchers and policymakers.

We urge authors to view the disclosure of funding sources as an essential component of ethical and credible scholarly publication.
