Editor Selection Policy for the Axis Journal of Scientific Innovations (AJSI)
Objective:
To establish a transparent, fair, and merit-based procedure for selecting all editors for the Axis Journal of Scientific Innovations (AJSI), ensuring the journal is guided by leaders who uphold the highest standards of scholarly excellence and ethical integrity.
Scope:
This policy applies to all editorial appointments, including the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and members of the Editorial Board.
Eligibility Criteria:
Prospective editors must demonstrate the following:
Hold a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a field relevant to scientific innovations and inventions.
Possess a distinguished record of scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
Have documented experience in peer review and/or editorial roles for academic journals.
Maintain an outstanding professional reputation for integrity, objectivity, and ethical conduct.
Demonstrate the ability and commitment to dedicate sufficient time and energy to the journal's editorial activities.
Selection Process:
Nomination and Application: Open editorial positions will be announced publicly on the journal's website and through relevant academic networks, inviting both applications and nominations.
Application Requirements: Candidates must submit a comprehensive package including a curriculum vitae, a statement of interest, and a vision statement outlining their goals for AJSI's development.
Review and Evaluation: A selection committee comprising current senior editors and independent experts will assess all applications against the published eligibility criteria, with particular emphasis on the candidate's editorial vision and academic standing.
Interviews: Short-listed candidates may be invited for an interview to discuss their vision and assess their suitability for the role in greater depth.
Final Selection: The selection committee's final recommendations will be presented to the Publisher, AXIS EXPLORATION AND ACADEMICS (PRIVATE) LIMITED, for official appointment.
Term and Responsibilities:
Editors are typically appointed for an initial term of three years, which may be renewed based on a satisfactory performance review. Key responsibilities include overseeing the double-blind peer-review process, making editorial decisions, and contributing to the journal's strategic direction and academic reputation.
